Have you ever been so overwhelmed by decisions in your life that you don’t know which ones to make because you don’t know which ones will honor God?
Proverbs 3: 3-12 provides a great “instruction manual” on how to live a God-honoring life. No matter what you do, if you have God in mind, then you’re gonna be alright.
A few years ago, while reading a very old NASB translation, I had an idea to include these verses in a song of peace, joy, and encouragement.
If you are facing many decisions in your life right now, I hope these verses and the song that was inspired by them many years ago will assure you on the direction where you must go.
Proverbs 3: 3-12 (NASB)
3 Do not let kindness and truth leave you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 So you will find favor and a good reputation
In the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
8 It will be healing to your body
And refreshment to your bones.
9 Honor the Lord from your wealth,
And from the first of all your produce;
10 Then your barns will be filled with plenty,
And your vats will overflow with new wine.
11 My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord
Or loathe His rebuke,
12 For whom the Lord loves He disciplines,
Just as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights.
